PARK IN THE DRIVEWAY AND DO NOT GO PAST THE GATE
- When you arrive park in the driveway and do not drive past gate.
- Keep kids and pets inside your vehicle. There is a playground and dog park up the road.
- There is no public bathroom. But there is a Dunkin with a bathroom near the playground.
- Stay near your vehicle and text the number on the sign your name and order number and that you are here.
- All postings, prices and availability may change at anytime.
- No birds are held until a 50% deposit is paid and the deposit is confirmed.
- We do not allow the public onto our back farm with the birds as this is a major biosecurity issue. Birds will be brought out to you.
- READ MY POLICIES
YARD SALERS
- Be prepared to text your request including hatch dates when you arrive to the phone number posted in the driveway. This isnt time to chit chat before purchasing, have your order ready.
- You are held to same policies as preorders. When you have a transaction with Koops Coops you are agreeing to the same policies as preorders, so I suggest you read those policies.
- Research the breeds before arriving.
PREORDERS
- Preorders must be picked up on the pickup date or the order WILL BE cancelled and the deposit forfeited.
- If there is a balance due bring cash to pay when picking up. I do not accept credit cards on the farm.
- Preorder pickups must be scheduled. You will be sent a link to schedule after the payment has been processed.
BRING BOXES OR CRATES
- Boxes are available for $5 each for chicks or 2 pullets.
- 2-3 month old pullets are usually the size of a grape fruit. A cat crate is ideal.
- Birds under 2 weeks old are usually about the size of a skinny baseball. A small box is ideal, not a crate. Chicks need to be kept warm on the ride home.
FRESH CHICKS NEED TO BE WARM
At 8 weeks old they no longer need to be kept warm.
- Fresh chicks need a brooder temperature at 95°F and changed each week and should be fed a chick starter feed until 8 weeks old.
- At 4 weeks old birds are moved out to a coop without heat but I still make sure they go in the coop at night or on chilly days.
- A healthy fully feathered 8 week old bird should be able to handle snow. As in if it gets snowed on, it should just fluff it off and be dry and fine. If you have not already, they should definitely no longer be provided heat as it can mess with their natural thermoregulation abilities. At this age they are also switched to a chick grower crumble until they start laying or are closer to 6 months old.
Be patient as I maybe helping other customers but will be out with your order soon.
